![]() ![]() It's fair to say we were VERY upset by this interaction- I'm a very honest person, hate confrontation and to be honest right then I just wanted to leave. I asked the receptionist to email him to give good advance notice of my request (we're all busy people) and she confirmed email communication was occurring but there was nothing more that could be done with the available staff at that time. ![]() I was informed that this information could only be provided by the manager, who was not in but would be at 8am the next morning. So, guilty until proven innocent then?! I reminded them that since our arrival I had spent most of the time before the room change either whinging about stuff that wasn't right/missing or sitting in the bar, but would appreciate a copy of their cctv and phone records to prove exactly how little time had actually been spent in that room and that we DID, to within probably a minute, report the broken tv as soon as we noticed it. AND we did have a bottle of fizz in the room so it MUST have been the cork from that (kicking myself for not taking my usual screw top! even though the location of the damage would have meant one lying flat on the floor to have an even near trajectory) ![]() Summonsed over by the receptionist to be informed the tv from the first room was being sent away for diagnostics which would confirm exactly what the problem was AND the exact time the impact occurred…… hang on, this sounds very much like an accusation that WE caused the damage to the tv?! As I pointed out, if we ‘had' done that, we hardly would have reported it immediately, would we?! Surely any sane person would keep their heads down and scarper as soon as the stay was over… ? (Probably just as the last people did!) To be then informed that housekeeping DEFINITELY checked the tv and it was un damaged (just like they checked there were two robes and actually cleaned and dusted ?!)…. ![]() This room was smaller than the first but hey we weren't here to admire the design of the hotel and it seemed fine so we cracked on with our stay….įast forward to the afternoon of the second day, just nipping back from a lovely explore of the city and a nice lunch before the band that evening. Anyway it was decided that all things considered it was probably best to move us to another room, at the end of the corridor (much quieter road noise so that at least was appreciated!) It came on but there was an issue with one side of the screen and only half a picture was visible, so we phoned reception (again, having already spoken to them to ask where the fridge was, and to inform them we only had one robe hanging up in the wardrobe). The Bluetooth speaker wouldn't connect, so we put the tv on for some music…. The receptionist informed me that all the ‘upgrade' rooms are on the first floor…. I asked if there were any higher floor rooms, as being a person of a ‘certain age' I'm not the best sleeper and easily disturbed by noise. My partner booked a two night stay as a birthday surprise - one of my very favourite ‘back in the day' bands were playing in the city and it was all supposed to be very lovely and exciting! Our room was an ‘upgrade' and we were originally shown to room 102. We also have a heavily discounted rate at the Q-park on talbot street which is approximately 185 meters walk from the hotel. Jeremy Snape, General Manager at Best Western Plus Nottingham City Centre, responded to this reviewĪs you mentioned we have very limited on-site car parking, for this reason we make it very clear on all booking sites the need to pre-book. We booked this hotel as it advertised onsite parking which it does but has only 10 spaces for a 100 room hotel, we were redirected to the Q park about a half a mile away but on arrival our standard Land Rover Discovery wouldn't go in under the barrier so we parked in the crowne plaza car park which had many available spaces, you exit the car park through the crowne plaza hotel which looked fabulous, I know where il be staying the next time, In fairness our hotel rang later on to tell us we had indeed booked one of the 10 spaces and if we wanted to take our car out of the crowne plaza car park and move to their small car park we could but we didn't bother, rooms were ok and the desk staff were very nice, not so much the duty manager ![]()
